Well the wheel shop did more of the thing. So here they are, I was not sure how the car was going to sit, the wheels are an inch bigger and the tire walls are smaller. But the Z expert guy was right, it seems to have worked out. I got Toyo Versado Noir tires, they feel pretty nice, I drove around for a bit. I am two weeks into recovery from my surgery and I felt well enough to drive it and carry the wheels to the hatch. They bought 2 tires I had on it for $50 so that was a good reduction. I have a gorilla lock on each wheel and then the other three are also another kind of security lock that needs a socket. The Gorillas are really nice so I recommend them for anyone wanting some security. It really changed the car, I don't mind the side trim as much, I still hate them, but somehow the car looks better and I don't mind it so much. So I'm pretty happy with it, its pretty wicked now. This old guy kept trying to buy it at the garage, he said I should sell it to him, and he looked like an old Italian man and the way he said it was more of a statement than a question... There was a 50s Vette at the shop too and everyone was looking at our cars, hoods up, turned into cars and coffee. They do fancy classic cars at this shop so they have specially padded sockets he said for the nuts. I have "tuner" lock nuts so they used mine. Amazing what some wheels can do for a car. The tires have a smaller wall now and I can feel that big time, it is stiffer, the car was already stiff so not a big deal, my wife was already complaining so she can continue.
*Edit, I told the guy trying to buy the car the Seinfeld quote, its a dead guy car and this car doesn't change hands unless somebody dies. He didn't laugh.

God, that looks fantastic. Great choice with the wheels. They're Enkeis, right? What size tires did you go with? They fit perfectly!

Well I had to stick with 7x15 or some stuff probably had to change. But they are perfectly fitted within the well so its good. I could have but 8" in the rear but then it would be more complicated, different everything for front and rear, offset etc. I was told this is a good way to keep your ride height the same. The Toyos are 205/60R15. Oh yeah they are Enkei Comps, they are sexy to touch, my neighbors are probably worried.

Ya I remember you telling me about the rubbing with the wider wheels. Anyways, they look fantastic. Nice beefy tires and they fit just right in the well. I love them! Im keeping those wheels in mind when I get some for my Z.

The Enkei are a bit heavier than the alternative but they are also rated 20% higher in strength testing. They are pretty Watanabe-y and come in gunmetal which is a lot like the grille and rear panel. They are nice in person, it has an amazing satin finish, very good craftsmanship, I was impressed. I have been sitting in my living room petting them for a week.

That's freaking awesome! Dramatic improvement if you ask me. Those Enkei wheels (MiniLite style?) are really nice. I am looking at something similar for my 71 corvette.

I know I was waiting like a baby was being born, then I saw it sat right and totally changed the way it looked. Totally worth it. They are supposed to be like a Watanabe but sort of updated. I think the MiniLight and Watanabes have both been around a while. The little minis had them so they were probably European in origin, but Watanabes quickly became the best looking wheels on many Japanese cars. I think these are wicked wheels, great quality, I can't recommend them enough.

I love me Z, but if I had a 71' Vette it would become a clone of this, somehow I would make it so.

I actually have a picture of a very that car in the comments section of the first thread about my car because I love the wheels so much. I kinda have already spent too much money on my suspension and stuff, but have enough for a set of wheels. I think these Enkeis will be perfect if I can get them in the right size, bolt pattern and offset. I'm going to try.
But wow (that car), if I could get a body kit and a wrap...

I have always wondered if anyone makes the bubble light for those Vettes. I'm sure that hood is around. I don't like new Vettes, but a split window or these are really nice. Well if I ever have money to burn and I get an American car I'm building that. I can't bring my wife and dog with two seats so the Z was perfect, the hatch makes it very useful and practically practical.

Thats if I ever have the money to do the Peking-Paris. I do plan on some lights, maybe fogs to start, or two yellow, 2 brights. My drawing, this car has my BRE air dam so it helps to see.

I have also liked this from the Le Mans Vette. I thought about doing it to my Z, and it would be useful because 240Z wipers are fucking slow and not so helpful.

That is so true. I really can't put much of anything in the bit of space between the seats and stored top (photo below). The more I look at it, the more I want a wrap of the white parts of the #12 car with even the stickers included. Oh and yeah, my wipers are really slow too.

The only way I've seen for better wipers on a Z is to get Honda wiper motors and it looks like they make a custom bracket to hold them, but they fit. I have Rainex right now, I don't drive it bad weather if I can help it.
